The crematorium and cemetery was officially opened on the 22nd October 1934 by Alderman John Moore under the Auspices of the Lord Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne, Councillor John Leadbitter J.P.
The crematorium has two chapels, joined together by an arcaded cloister know as the Loggia. The original Garden of Remembrance is immediately behind the cloisters and is approached through the archway of the central clock tower.

Cheap store that has regained its community appeal after selling stolen goods, out of date food and hiring illegal immigrants. Was also warned for waging a campaign of terror against a rival shop after asking for the Evening Chronicle rights, the rival owner later died from a heart attack.
Sid was also disqualified from a Landlord of the Year contest for threatening people to vote for him otherwise they would be evicted and was then banned from re-entering when the DWP found Sid used his houses as a benefit drop.
After all this Sid was forgiven for turning QE and providing the Police with evidence against locals who were selling cheap cigarettes and stolen alcohol.
